Picture I took of my dear friend’s costume on Saturday. Hola DEA!

It seems that Breaking Bad has inspired a lot of Halloween costumes this year. There’s been so many great Walter & Jesse costumes, but this one made me laugh the most. If you don’t recognise it - it’s Tortuga’s head on a turtle with the message “Hola DEA” (right before it explodes) :-D

Halloween Scooby Doo

This is my second seasonal post as it’s well and truly autumn in the UK now and getting close to Halloween. I made this a few years ago when it was dark and cold outside.

I’ve always loved Scooby Doo and I thought this image of him carving a pumpkin then scaring himself with it was pretty cool :-)

I embroidered the centre panel using cross-stitch by hand, then I found some brilliant Halloween fabric to stitch and create a soft, quilted frame.

Are you the sort of person who really wants to make an impression on Halloween but doesn’t want to put in a lot of effort? Or perhaps you’re like us and feel that Halloween is worth celebrating all year round and that pretty much any outfit can be enhanced with a gruesome accent or two. Either way, this awesome jewelry looks like just the ticket.

Peter Von Erickson of creates impressively creepy yet elegantly simple chokers, bracelets, and rings which make it look like you’ve been cut open, stitched up (perfect for dressing up as Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas!), or even infested with revolting maggots. Each delightfully gory piece is hand cast using flexible vinyl and they’re all available via Pete’s Etsy shop, VonErickson or from VonErikson’s Laboratory.
